Pancham Ved Creations Charitable Trust celebrated the grand success of ‘ Rang Khela ‘ theatre festival

Pancham Ved Creations Charitable Trust celebrated the grand success of ‘ Rang Khela ‘ theatre festival sponsored by FLO Uttarakhand & KSM Film Productions.
The week long fest started at Shanti Kunj, Haridwar with a fabulous folk musical called Sita-Ram Vivaah.
Thereafter, the performances continued at Olympus High School’s Auditorium from 21.01.2023 till 25.01.2023 with a number of beautiful plays like – Vikaz V/s Vinaash, Mera Vajood, Rakt Abhishek, The Proposal and many more, by various theatre groups from and around Uttarakhand. Each presentation was followed by discussion with the team members and director, mediated by veteran theatre artist Mr. Shrish Dobhal from NSD (National School of Drama, Delhi) whose expertise on the subject made the festival even more special. The choice of plays were exquisite, written by famous writers like Anton Chekov, Mohan Rakesh, Padma Shree Dr Sinha, and Dr Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, to name a few.

A special interactive session was also conducted featuring award winning and versatile film directors, Dr. Kunal Shamsher Malla and Mr. Santosh Rawat. This session show-cased the trailor of an upcoming film – ‘5th September’ directed and produced by Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla (KSM Film Productions) followed by a special screening of ‘Pataal Tee,’ which is being highly appreciated at various film festivals across the globe, including award at Busan Film Festival, directed by Mr. Santosh Rawat from Uttrakhand.

Dr. Kunal and Dr. Anuradha Malla, the senior Vice-chairperson of FICCI FLO Uttarakhand, awarded the Best Actor, Actress, and Director amongst the best artists who performed at the festival with trophies and cash prizes and also awarded the organizing body (Pancham Ved Creations Charitable Trust) for successfully concluding the festival with finesse. The cash prize was sponsored by Mr K S Malla (KSM Productions) and Sr VC Dr Anuradha Malla, Past President Mrs Kiran Bhatt Todaria, VC Mrs Charu Chauhan. (FLO Uttarakhand)

Overall, Rang Khela is amongst the few big steps taken to promote and celebrate the art of theatre and acting in and around Uttrakhand. With excellent performances by the students of the Department of Acting and Performing Arts (M.A Theatre) of the Himalayiya University Doiwala, Dehradun, including alumni of BNA (Bhartendu Natya Academy) and also members of various reputed groups from different places, including Kolkata, Assam, Saharanpur and Paudi to name a few. All the performances mesmerized the audiences, spreading the magic of theatrical arts.
