On August 28, 2025, The Times of India, in collaboration with Graphic Era Hill University, hosted the Rising Stars – School Sports Edition 2025 at KP Nautiyal Auditorium in Dehradun, marking National Sports Day. Olympus High was proud to have four outstanding students nominated for their remarkable achievements in sports:
- Shiya Sharma (Class 10T) – Taekwondo
- Akshit Panwar (Class 12 Science) – Basketball
- Pradyumna Thapliyal (Class 12 Science) – Discus & Shotput
- Mayank Pundir (Class 12 Commerce) – Javelin (Gold Medalist)
Their devoted sports teacher, Mr. Saurav Kathait, accompanied them and was honored for his invaluable contribution to guiding these young athletes.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Smt. Rekha Arya, Honorable Sports Minister of Uttarakhand, who added significance to the event with her support and encouragement.
This event celebrated sporting talent across Doon schools, highlighting the state’s dedication to nurturing young athletes. The presence of the Sports Minister emphasized the importance of promoting sports and recognizing young talent.
