Independence Day

On August 15, Independence Day was celebrated with great pride and patriotic fervor at Olympus High, bringing together the entire school community to honor the nation’s freedom. The event was graced by the presence of all the dedicated faculty members, including the Managing Director, Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla, the Director of Academics, Dr. Anuradha Pundir Malla, and Principal, Dr. Jyoti Gupta. The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag, a moment that filled every heart with immense pride, followed by the National Anthem, which evoked a strong sense of unity and national spirit.

The Managing Director, Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla, delivered an inspiring speech that highlighted the importance of independence and encouraged the students to uphold the values of integrity, responsibility, and service to the nation. He then led the gathering in a soul-stirring rendition of the patriotic song, “Bharat humko Jaan se pyara hai,” which resonated deeply with everyone present. This was followed by passionate speeches from the students’ leaders—the Head Boy addressed the gathering and expressed deep respect for the freedom fighters and emphasized the role of youth in shaping the country’s future; then, the Head Girl followed with a powerful speech, celebrating the progress India has made and reminding everyone of their duties as responsible citizens.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Principal, who expressed gratitude to all for making the celebration meaningful and memorable. The day not only commemorated India’s independence but also instilled a renewed sense of patriotism and responsibility among the students and staff of Olympus High.
