Covid-19 Vaccination Camp Organised at Olympus High School
The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on children’s education around the globe. Amid the spread of the Omicron variant, which had led to a surge in covid cases and concerns around an imminent third wave of infections, vaccinating students has become a critical step towards putting education back on track.
To ensure immunization and safety of students against Covid-19 and in the hope to return to traditional class experience, Olympus High school in collaboration with the Education Department and CMO, Dehradun organized a free vaccination camp under the able guidance of Managing Director Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla and Principal Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla, within the school premises for students of Classes IX-XII between the age group 15 -18 years with the first dose of Covaxin in association with the State Government on 7th January 2022.
An online consent form was sent to the parents informing them about the camp. The students were notified to come in appropriate attire to enable vaccination with required documents such as Aadhar cards. Parents and students were asked to adhere to covid-19 safety protocols by wearing masks and maintaining safe distancing at all times. The division of the classrooms was done to avoid overcrowding. Around eighty-three students were successfully vaccinated in presence of the Vice-Principal Mr. Manpreet Singh, Co-ordinator Ms. Mitu Chakraborty, Senior Teachers and staff of Olympus High.
