On February 3, 2024, Olympus High School held a fire safety drill as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of students and staff. The drill aimed to familiarize students and staff with emergency exit routes and procedures, test the effectiveness of the school’s emergency alarm system, teach calm and efficient emergency response, and educate on fire prevention and fire extinguisher use.
The drill began at 10:00 AM with the fire alarm sounding, prompting students and staff to swiftly evacuate the premises. They followed marked evacuation routes to designated assembly points, monitored by fire wardens who ensured a safe and orderly evacuation. The entire process demonstrated the school community’s preparedness and understanding of fire safety protocols.
A post-drill debriefing session reviewed performance, highlighting areas for improvement, such as quick response time and better coordination in certain sections of the school. Feedback from students and teachers was encouraged to refine future drills.
The fire safety drill was deemed successful, meeting safety standards.
