In light of the above, Mount Litera Zee School recently hosted a thrilling Inter School Chess Competition on 2nd August, 2024 within the school premises. The tournament aimed at bringing together talented young players from across 22 schools of Dehradun district.
The event had a total of seven rounds participated eagerly by almost two hundred chess enthusiasts. The tournament was held under 11, 15 and 19 year age categories respectively. The students of Olympus High also participated in the competition showcasing sportsmanship and a sense of camaraderie. Anant Gupta of class V participated under 11, Shubham Maheshwari of class X participated under 15 , Aditya Pandit and Manik Gupta of class XII participated under 19 respectively. Anant Gupta (Under 11)won six out of seven rounds securing second position. Whereas, Shubham Maheshwari was able to hold third position consistently till the fifth round. He secured sixteenth rank out of 82 students.
To conclude, the tournament was more than just a contest of intellect and strategy. It was a celebration of values and a platform for young minds to learn, grow and forge lasting friendships.
